While Call of Duty: Mobile has been in the limelight since its launch a few weeks ago, PUBG Mobile still remains one of the most popular Battle Royale games on Android. Tencent regularly updates the game with new features, maps, weapons, and more. PUBG fans can now rejoice since the PUBG Mobile 0.15.0 update is finally available to download.
This new update brings along a ton of new and exciting features that we’ll talk about in detail. Before we begin, you might also want to check out these PUBG Mobile tips and tricks and also, how you can play PUBG Mobile on a PC.
PUBG Mobile 0.15.0 update
As we mentioned above, the new update brings several new features. Some of which were previously released for the PC version of the game a couple of months ago. So without much further ado, let’s check out everything that’s new in the PUBG Mobile 0.15.0 update.
New Weapons Update
Those who were waiting for new weapons to make their way over to PUBG Mobile would be pleased to know that the developers have added the Desert Eagle or Deagle pistol which makes use of .45 ACP ammo. It is the most powerful pistol in the game.
Apart from the new pistol, another change worth keeping in mind is that the UMP9 is now called the UMP45 and takes 45.ACP ammo. The deadly SMG used to require 9mm ammunition prior to the 0.15.0 update.
Survive Till Dawn 2 – Halloween
The new Survive Till Dawn 2 mode is now available with the PUBG Mobile 0.15.0 update. It brings a few interesting changes such as the addition of the hostile human faction. These would be added in a few specific areas. Fortunately, the hostile human faction isn’t any more superior to general bots in the game. Therefore, you wouldn’t find yourself in a sticky situation with them for the most part.
There are also Halloween themed zombies, although, it’s nothing to write home about. Nonetheless, the Survive Till Dawn 2 mode isn’t much different from the original mode besides these few changes.
The BRDM-2 is here
This beastly vehicle was added to PUBG PC a couple of months ago and now it’s here for PUBG Mobile with the 0.15.0 update. The BRDM-2 replaces the armored UAZ which is a flare gun vehicle. The new squad carrier can be driven on land, as usual, however, you could also drive it on water.
The vehicle has an insane amount of healthy and would not blow up easily. What’s even better is that the tires on the BRDM-2 are completely bulletproof, thus you need not worry about enemies blowing out the tires.
Like the armored UAZ, you cannot return fire when inside the BRDM-2 hence you would have to plan your escape from enemy fire wisely.
If you’re a regular PUBG Mobile player, then you might know that the game is a huge hog on the device resources. It drains the battery and even the lobby lags on most devices. Fortunately, with the new update, the developers claim that they have now improved the fluency, control, power consumption, performance and Lobby UI.
As far as we can tell, the update seems to have made a noticeable difference in the performance of Lobby UI, however, we haven’t noticed any improvements in power consumption. However, this does not mean that there you too would not notice any improvements for power consumption.
New Weapon and Vehicle sounds
This new update brings along new weapon and vehicle sounds along with some new sound effects for certain actions. The new high-res sounds are only available if you download the additional high-res sound pack from the resources section.
These new sounds are a lot more like the weapon and vehicle sounds on PUBG PC which is excellent and makes the game feel a lot more similar to its PC counterpart. However, if you’re someone who wants to play the game with its original audio, then you could simply ignore the high-res audio resource pack.
To download the high-res audio resources, launch PUBG Mobile on your device and tap on the Download icon located at the top left corner of the screen beside the Start button. Then tap on the Play button beside Ultra HD Sounds. You would be required to restart your device for the Ultra HD Sounds to work.
The Payload Mode is the biggest update to the game with the PUBG Mobile 0.15.0 update. This new game mode isn’t yet available to play, however, it would be activated via a server-side update. It brings forward an entirely new experience to the game.
Once available, you would be able to play it from the EvoGround section. Players would be able to ride helicopters and you can also pick up anti-aircraft weapons to take out the helicopters. The new game mode also brings the option to revive a dead teammate which is something you can do on Call of Duty: Mobile.
Unfortunately, the developers haven’t yet revealed the exact date Payload Mode would be available. We do expect it to be playable in another few weeks.
Explosive Gas Cans
With the new update, you can now eliminate or damage enemies by blowing up the gas cans. All you need to do is shoot at the gas cans to blow them up. You could even get creative and place gas cans in strategic locations to take out approaching enemies.
Players can now use the Ledge Grab function to easily access few areas which we previously not accessible. You simply need to jump and reach for the ledge of the containers or a building to climb it. This feature opens up a world of possibilities on the battleground since you can now explore and look for new hiding spots or areas to ambush your enemies from.
Other changes and updates
Well, those were some of the major changes that came along today with the PUBG Mobile 0.15.0 update. However, there are a few other changes which we’ll talk about here. Firstly, you can now crouch and slide in TDM matches. This is something you can do in Call of Duty: Mobile as well. It seems Tencent is borrowing a few COD moves and features for PUBG.
You can also leave graffiti on any surface or object in the game. This is a feature we could probably do without and no one might care about. However, it can be entertaining for some.
Well, those were all the new things worth knowing about in the PUBG Mobile 0.15.0 update. What’s your favorite feature from the new version? Let us know in the comments below.
