The Xiaomi Mi Play wallpapers are now available for download. The 10 wallpapers feature a Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2280 px). They can be downloaded as a zip and individually both. Before we get into the official stock wallpapers from the Xiaomi Mi Play, let’s take a look at the specifications, first and foremost.

Popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi outed the lower-mid-range Mi Play a few days ago in China. The Mi Play features a 5.84in Full HD+ quite tall 19:9 IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels.

The performance you need is handled by a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC coupled to a PowerVR GE8320 GPU aided by 4GB of RAM. Internal memory size is at 64GB. With that said, most likely the internal memory is expandable, as the device, is expected to be equipped with a MicroSD card (if anybody could confirm?). Coming to biometrics, a fingerprint scanner is at the rear and Xiaomi’s flavor of front-camera based face unlock for unlocking the phone is available for security and authentication.

Photography is handled by a camera system at the rear featuring a primary 12MP + 2MP (depth sensor) sensors combination assisted by LED flash. An 8MP selfie camera (HDR) is available upfront. The rear and front cams can shoot videos at a resolution of up to 1080p @ 30fps.

Battery Power and charging, connectivity and Android OS

A 3000 mAh battery is onboard to provide enough juice to the Xiaomi Mi Play. Oddly, the device features the old, outdated and obsolete MicroUSB port for charging and data transfers. Having said that the device features fast battery charging (10W).

Coming to the connectivity side of the device, it has you all covered with Dual-VoLTE, Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with support for A2DP and EDR, GPS for navigation and location-based services and more are onboard. Thankfully, a 3.5mm audio jack is present in the Xiaomi Mi Play for audiophiles.

The Xiaomi Mi Play ships with Android 8.1 Oreo-based Xiaomi’s MIUI custom overlay out of the box.

Pricing, availability, and color options

As for the pricing and availability, in China, the Xiami Mi Play will set you back CNY 1,099. As far as the paint jobs are concerned, it will be available in Blue, Red or Black.

Upfront the Xiaomi Mi Play looks neat, clean and modern with a water-drop styled notch screen and minimal bezels. However, flip the smartphone and you are greeted with a very familiar looking and feeling rear end design. Speaking of which, it reminds us of the Huawei P20 Pro and iPhone X and XS. With that said, there is no denying the fact that, Xiaomi seems to have taken a page from Huawei’s book, who took a page from that of Apple’s in the first place.
