Barring some really brilliant songs, most of the times it is the music that actually helps the lyrics. Some songs without the music to accompany them are just, not that great. That’s not to say they are bad songs. This is why so many people think they sing really good but that’s not an opinion their friends share. Add a bit of music to that though and opinions may change. No wonder Karaoke is such a popular thing. If you like singing you probably like doing so with music in the background too. So here are some of the best karaoke apps for Android that can help you on the go.
1. Red Karaoke Sing & Record
Red Karaoke is one of the best Karaoke apps on Android that is actually free. The interface is also pretty to look at. Kind of reminds you of Apple music or iTunes iPhone app. The app boasts of over 50,000 tracks from 28 different languages. New songs are added every week after reviewing a request list from the users.
Don’t miss: 5 Best Android Apps for Composing Music
The best thing about this app is that it works offline as well. You don’t necessarily need an active internet connection to record a song. The app’s main features are basically listed in the name itself. It is an app for you to sing along and record yourself. There is an option to record a duet with a friend as well.
2. Sing! Karaoke by Smule
One of the most popular karaoke apps around on Android is Sing! Karaoke by Smule. The popularity also seems well deserved, after all, the app boasts of a music database containing over 800,000+ tracks. It’s a must have app for a budding singer.
Sing! Karaoke even lets you sing video duets with others, including some popular names like Jessie J, Jason Derulo, and Linkin Park. There are no limitations to English songs either. The app has a lot of popular Bollywood music as well. And we’re only scratching the surface here. In order to access all of the karaoke music offered, you can opt for the VIP membership plan for about $10 a year.
3. Yokee Karaoke Sing & Record
This is an app that more or less serves as a portal to YouTube’s endless karaoke collection. The app has the simple sing, record and share policy without all of the fancy cool features offered by the previous app. It gives you access to the world’s biggest video sharing website where you can find songs of any genre and use that as your karaoke and sing along.
Yokee Karaoke Sing & Record does offer some cool features like adding reverb and echo effects to your song but they’re no match for all the effects offered by the last one. The app is plain and simple with a nice user-friendly interface so if you’re not into paying almost $10 a year for your singing, you can try this one out.
4. Gaao Bollywood & Hindi Karaoke
This is a Karaoke app focusing on India and its diverse regional languages. It’s a Karaoke social network for Indians who are into this sort of a thing. You can like and comment on recordings by other users or share yours.
The app has almost all the popular Indian songs from a lot of languages including but not limited to Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Bengali and also English. It offers both audio and video recordings, and you can also perform live for your audience, assuming you manage to build up some. That’s because it is not as popular an app like the ones listed above.
5. SingPlay: Karaoke your MP3s
This is not exactly an app similar to the ones above. As in SingPlay is not a Karaoke music player but a Karaoke music maker. The app is easy to use but unfortunately not as easy to get results from. But we can’t expect to separate the music track from the vocals on a mobile device to give professional results, can we? At least not yet.
The reason this app makes our list though is because if you’re really into karaoke, there will come that song that you just won’t find on any of those apps listed above. Could be a local song, or a song in a local language. It’s those times that you might want to try your luck with SingPlay. It’s not perfect but it gets the job done more or less. Depending on your luck, the results can even be close to perfect.
