Samsung recently announced their latest mid-range offering in the form of the Galaxy A7 2018. What’s unique about this phone is that it’s Samsung’s first smartphone with triple rear cameras. The main camera is a 24 MP f/1.7 sensor. There’s also an 8 MP f/2.4 wide-angle sensor and a 5 MP f/2.2 depth sensor.

There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack(Good job, Samsung). The SoC is an unnamed Octa-core chipset which coupled with 4/6 GB of RAM should offer a smooth user experience. The rest of the phone is what you expect from an upper mid-range Samsung offering. 64/128 GB storage options. It has all the basic sensors as well as NFC support, though it is region dependent. Other notable features include IP68 water and dust resistance and support for Dolby Atmos and Samsung Pay.

The phone offers a premium glass sandwich design with a 6-inch 18.5:9 SuperAMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels. Samsung has thrown in support for an Always-on Display and the screen is covered by an unspecified version of Corning’s Gorilla Glass.

The phone has only been launched in South Korea for now and the pricing is yet to be revealed. Overall, it seems to be a balanced phone but the unannounced price makes it hard to recommend as of today.
