Tanmay Sharma | 01 Mar 2016 | Root/ Samsung

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have started to receive the Marshmallow update recently. If you missed the update or haven’t received it yet you can follow our guide on How to Install Marshmallow Update on Galaxy S6/S6 Edge. This article will help you install TWRP on your Galaxy S6/S6 Edge and also we will cover how to root Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge running Marshmallow firmware.

To root your Galaxy S6/S6 Edge running latest Marshmallow update you will have to install a custom kernel, SpaceX kernel by Manh_IT will help you root your device easily. You may or may not install TWRP, it is not necessary if you just want to root your device. But I would recommend you to install TWRP as it gives you freedom of installing any custom files and taking backups becomes easier. Follow the steps given below to enjoy root access on your Galaxy S6/S6 Edge running Marshmallow update.

You may also flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503.zip using TWRP if you don’t want to install it via SuperSU application. You can also flash the kernel using TWRP custom recovery if you wish to do so download the zip file of the kernel instead of .tar.md5.
