Huawei unveiled the mid-range Mate 20 Lite at IFA 2018!
Popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei unveiled the Huawei Mate 20 Lite at IFA 2018. The Huawei Mate 20 is based upon a glass-on-glass design and build. The phone features a 6.3 notched 18:5:9 Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340. The Huawei Mate 20 Lite is powered by a mid-range grade Kirin 710 SoC coupled with a Mali-G51 MP4 GPU, 6GB/4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage capacity. Quite naturally, there is a dedicated MicroSD card slot (utilizes the SIM2 slot) present in the device that can handle cards of size up to 256 GB. A fingerprint scanner and Huawei’s flavor of face unlock are onboard the Huawei Mate 20 Lite.
Camera
Photography is handled by a dual camera setup at the rear featuring a 20MP (f/1.8 lens) (PDAF) + 2MP depth sensors combo assisted by a single LED flash and again a dual 24MP + 2MP sensors combo shooter up front for the selfieholics out there.
Battery, connectivity and Android version
A fairly decent enough 3750 mAh battery is onboard the Huawei Mate 20 Lite to keep it ticking on and also the device is charged via the USB-C port to top it up and having said that the device also features fast battery charging. Coming to the connectivity side of the Huawei Mate 20 Lite, it has you covered with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP, GPS for navigation and location-based services and more. Thankfully, the device is equipped with the good old headphone jack we all love. The Huawei Mate 20 Lite runs on Android 8.1 based EMUI 8.2 out of the box.
Pricing, color options and availability
As for pricing, The Huawei Mate 20 Lite will set you back around €379/approx Rs. 32,100 and is now available only in select markets like UK and Poland. The Mate 20 Lite is available in Black, Platinum Gold, and Sapphire Blue paint jobs. Indian or worldwide market availability is yet to be known and confirmed.
Design: following the footsteps of the Apple iPhone X
Design-wise, the Huawei Mate 20 Lite looks like the iPhone X up front with that notched display design. However, Flip the Huawei Mate 20 Lite and the rear design resembles that of Huawei’s own Mate 10 Porsche Design of last year. There is no denying the fact that Huawei was only and only inspired by the iPhone X a.k.a. “FruitPhone X” for that notched display.
