Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Android 4.1.2 JB Update Hits India, France, Peru and More

Rakesh | 23 Dec 2012 | Android News/ Guides/ ROMs/ Samsung

Samsung started its Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update roll out from Poland on December 10. Millions of Galaxy Note 2 users (including me), who could not wait for the official release for their respective country/region, flashed the Poland build to get the new features and improvements. Now it’s is time for some of them and many others to flash the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean specific build for their country as Samsung has now directed the update to some Asian countries like India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh. Countries like France and Peru have also started receiving the new Jelly Bean update via Over-the-Air feature on device and Samsung Kies.

If you belong to any of  any of the countries mentioned above, start checking for the new update on Kies. You can also check for the latest firmwate update for your Note 2 from Settings> About> Software update. Note that you will be able to get the update via Kies or OTA only of your phone is  on stock firmware and it is not rooted. If you did not get the update notification yet or are unable to upgrade to Android 4.1.2 via Kies, you can still install the new firmware using Odin.

    Hey DroidViews admin
I belongs to Delhi India, nd i have Note 2 gt-n7100 running JB 4.1.1
i have rooted it so no official updates for me, neither from OTA or direct kies(via usb)
I am willing to use your method for upgrading my note 2, but my question is

i have lots of apps and games downloaded via internet and installed em,
after upgrading to 4.1.2, will this remove or delete my all apps and games, cos they are hard to install again(via lucky patcher, and other stuff)?

Kindly give a solid answer, so that i can decide whether i should go for up gradation or not.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Deep singh Rana.

The method described above is well tested on my Galaxy Note 2 and the firmware is working like a charm for about a month now. Download the Indian version and install it. Nothing will be deleted.

Indonesian build here, Updated to 4.1.2 OTA and now I cant connect to my wifi… mine is N7100DXDLK5… I actually went to the Samsung Centre and requested to rollback to 4.1.1 But they said my device cannot rollback because I updated OTA, they flashed it again… works for a couple of hours, works at my home wifi, but at work I cant connect again… This is a very serious bug.

      Hi,

All previous 4.1.2 builds for the Galaxy Note have the wifi bug, But Samsung’s later releases seem to fix it and some other issues. I would recommend you to install this firmware: http://droidviews.com/2013/exynos-vulnerability-bug-fix-firmware-rolls-out-for-samsung-galaxy-note-2-n7100/

Even after resetting my GN2 to factory settings the WIFI bug of 4.1.2 update did not vanish and I could not connect to any WIFI networks. Thereafter I went to Samsung Service center to do offline update after flashing the ROM but with no success and Sammies service centre agreed and escalated the issue to the higher levels..

Meanwhlie they again flashed my device to original 4.1.1 version of OS and have requested me not update to 4.1.2 for sometime till the issue is resolved.

    ALERT…
REQUEST YOU ALL HAVING GN2 IN INDIA TO REFRAIN FROM UPDATING THE OS TO 4.1.2 OR ELSE YOU WILL END UP WITH WIFI BUG..AND ALL THOSE ALREADY UPDATED CAN SHOULD FLASH THEIR DEVICE BACK TO 4.1.1 TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE FOR NOW…

Hi Rakesh..there seems to be something really wrong with Jellybean update 4.1.2 as almost who have updated in India over the air have ended up with WIFI bug.. I was also facing the same issue however, I downloaded the Indian Firmware from here and flashed it via odin.. was able to connect to Wifi without any issue but..after 2 hours back to square one.. I have still not tried with Poland firmware..so not sure if its only Indian firmware which triggers this Wifi bug…

Well, I have not yet tried the Indian build. Updated my Note 2 with the Poland version and still using it, no problems with WiFi connectivity. There was another guy who faced the same issue with the Indian FW. He flashed the Polish FW and his problem was resolved:

If by original you mean the Indian fw, you can install it over Poland version. But if you want to revert back to 4.1.1, I am afraid you will have to wipe data factory reset in Recovery or you will get a bootloop.

            Use this tool:

Unzip and run the .bat file, type the number for backup and follow the instructions on device.

Then revert back to Android 4.1.1 and restore using same tool.
