Popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei outed the Enjoy 9 back in December of 2018. The device features a water-drop notched 6.26in wide 19:9 HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The handset is powered by a budget grade Snapdragon 450 SoC coupled to an Adreno 506 GPU, features 4GB of RAM on the 64GB storage variant and 3GB of RAM again on the 32GB storage variant. As expected, a dedicated MicroSD card slot that can handle cards of up to 512GB in size is present in the device for storage expansion. Oddly enough, a fingerprint scanner is nowhere to be seen on the device. So it is most likely that a front-facing camera-based face unlock is onboard for securing the device.
A dual camera system
Photography is managed by a pretty basic dual camera setup at the rear featuring a primary 13MP (f/1.8) (PDAF) + 2MP (f/2.4) (depth) sensors combination assisted by a single LED flash. Up front, we do have an 8MP (f/2.0) (HDR) camera. Both the rear and forward facing cameras can record videos at a resolution of up to 1080 @ 30fps.
Battery power and charging, connectivity and Android OS
A large 4000mAh battery is onboard the Huawei Enjoy 9 to keep the lights on. Speaking of which, the device is topped up via the now outdated and obsolete MicroUSB port. However, to make up for this, the mobile phone comes bundled with a fast battery charger (5W x 2A).
Now coming to the connectivity side of the Huawei Enjoy 9, it has you covered with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP, GPS for navigation and location-based services and more. Thankfully, Huawei has decided to retain the 3.5mm audio jack for audiophiles out there. At launch, the Huawei Enjoy 9 ran on Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box.
