Prerequisites

Install CWM/ TWRP Recovery on Nokia X

  1. Download the CWM or TWRP recovery as per your choice.
  2. Connect your device to the PC via USB cable.
  3. Open the folder where the CWM or TWRP image files have been downloaded.
  4. Press SHIFT key and right-click on an empty space inside that folder. Select Open Command Prompt Here.
  5. Enter the following command to reboot your device into fastboot mode:
    adb reboot bootloader
  6. Enter the following command to Install CWM recovery:
    fastboot -i 0x0421 flash recovery cwm-6048-normandy.img
  7. Enter the following command to Install TWRP recovery:
    fastboot -i 0x0421 flash recovery TWRP-2.7.0.2-normandy.img
  8. The process will take hardly a few seconds. Once done, enter the below command to reboot your device:
    fastboot reboot
  9. To boot into recovery mode, once you have entered into OS, type the following command in command prompt window:
    adb reboot recovery

  1. dude, I just Updated my Nokia x to v1.2.4.3. And I didn’t get any method. I don’t know Why drivers are not installing. Even I disabled my Signature verification. I downloaded 8mb drivers. I tried my best to root that particular version. Will you please help me to either root my phone or downgrade to Nokia x.
