Popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei unveiled a mid-range smartphone under their Honor sub-brand called the Honor 9 Lite back in January of 2018 in India as a Flipkart exclusive device. The Honor 9 Lite smartphone features a 5.65in Full HD+ 18:9 IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 × 2160px. The Honor 9 Lite is powered by the company’s mid-range level, Kirin 659 SoC coupled with a Mali-T830 MP2 GPU along with 6GB of RAM (64GB internal memory) or 3/4GB of RAM (32GB of internal storage). Thankfully, a MicroSD card slot is present in the Honor 9 Lite for expandable storage. A fingerprint scanner that can unlock the phone in just 0.25 seconds is onboard as the only biometric authentication option.
Camera
Photography is handled by a dual camera setup at the rear featuring a 13MP + 2MP depth sensor combo. Again a 13MP + 2MP sensor combo is featured up front for the selfieholics. The cameras both front and rear can record video with a resolution of up to 1080p @ 30fps.
Battery, connectivity and Android version
A 3000 mAh battery is onboard the Honor 9 Lite to keep the lights on. Coming to the connectivity side of the Honor Play, it has you all covered with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP, GPS and more. Thankfully, the Honor 9 Lite retains the good old headphone jack we all love. The Honor 9 Lite runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.1 out of the box.
Pricing, availability and color options
As for pricing, the 6/64GB and 3/32GB variants of the Honor 9 Lite will set you back Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 10,999 respectively and is available exclusively on Flipkart. The Honor 9 Lite is available in Glacier Grey, Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black paint jobs.

Design wise, the Honor 9 Lite looks sleek and elegant at the same time resembling the iPhone 8 Plus a.k.a. the “FruitPhone”. However, there is no denying the fact that Honor was only and only inspired by the “FruitPhone 8 Plus” with the dead ringer being that horizontal camera module arrangement at the rear of the device. However, flip the Honor 9 Lite and upfront you have 18:9 display with minimal bezels top and bottom.
