Again, since we’re dealing with a Samsung device, the tool to be put to use is Odin, which shall assist us all the way during this guide.

I got it to work on like the 4th try. Odin wasn’t recognizing my device, I reinstalled the drivers in kies and tried again… I don’t know if that was the problem or not, but it worked afterwards. Thanks 🙂

  • You must be making some mistake. Show me the Odin log.

Hello, I’ve used this method to root my phone and it did work. However, now I’m trying to install twrp as I’d like to use it to flash a custom ROM. I’ve attempted to follow these steps several times by going in to download mode and flashing TWRP as instructed, however this time it’s simply not working. Odin gives me this response: All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)
It seems as though my tablet is just not responding at all when in download mode. Any tips?

Nevermind, I was using Odin 3.7. Odin 3.9 is different.

There is no AP tab in Odin?
