Lack of a dedicated camera button is universal to most Android phones. I do not know why Android device manufacturers, who boast of launching the best camera phones, do not even think of adding a camera button. A physical camera button is one of the most essential things a device with a powerful lense can have but its exclusion from most powerful smartphones is really shocking!
When Sony released the Xperia models like the Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR with a physical camera button, it seemed that the company has revived the good old trend but its current flagship Xperia Z still lacks it. However, there is a good news for the users of Xperia Z as now they can feel compensated for the absence of a camera button.

The mod also lets you to use the volume key to take pictures in fast capture mode from standby. It works on all devices with Android 4.1.2 and 4.2 with stock rooted firmware.
