LG Optimus 2X was one of the most powerful smartphones in its heyday but its manufacturer did not give the device the due attention it deserved. LG has not a good credit when we talk about updating a phone’s software and the Optimus 2X has is a living victim of this neglection. So far there were only rumors that this phone will be getting an Ice Cram Sandwich update very soon and now we have confirmed reports that say LG has already started Android 4.0 ICS update for the Optimus 2X.
If you one of those who are still hanging to the Optimust 2X, LG is ready to satiate your anger. The new update has already rolled out for Korean users and it is approaching the other quarters of the world. It is to be noted that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will not be available via OTA and if you want to update your device, you will have to install LG’s PC Suite on your computer to check if the update is already available for your country. The update has come in form of a ‘fidelity award’ after trying the patience of the users most of whom have already got rid this old phone.
