Install ThinkingBridge ROM on Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus S and GSM Galaxy Nexus

Earlier we prompted our users to Join The Beta Phase of ThinkingBridge ROM. And back then, since two months of this ROM’s first release, it has already gained a lot of popularity amongst  the users of various devices. ThinkingBridge ROM is a creation of TeamBridge Initiated & led by htchoi5609@XDA-Developers (Real name: Heeteak Choi). In its initial phase ThinkingBridge ROM supported a short list of devices (GSM Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Nexus 7 & Galaxy SII) but with its rapid improvisation, both in features and popularity, it came up to a sum of ten devices (Added Nexus 4, Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2 & Optimus G) and still is expanding at a decent pace.

To begin with, we shall first know about ThinkingBridge ROM and then follow the instructions to Install this ROM on the supported Nexus devices.

About ThinkingBridge ROM

ThinkingBridge ROM is an Android aftermarket firmware by TeamBridge which is built with the purpose to offer maximum stability, high performance & an appealing User Interface. This ROM is based on The Android Open Source Project (AOSP), AOKP & CyanogenMod code. Here to contribute to the Android Open Source world and provide their users with the Best-Of-Android.

    -Sound (Enable volume panel, flip phone settings, headphones and bluetooth headset otpions etc.)

Above are the features clearly visible to your eyes but still a full list of Kernel and script optimizations are still not mentioned.

The features are appealing, aren’t they? Well, in that case don’t wait any further and read below on how to Install it your Nexus device.

Prerequisites

  • At least 60% battery level
  • USB Drivers [Link]
  • Backup your complete device storage, SMS, Contacts and Calenders manually

  • The Instructions are device specific, don’t try this on any other device
  • Read and Understand the Instructions carefully before performing any actions

Instructions For Nexus S (crespo)

  1. Download the latest ROM build
  2. Download the latest GApps package [Link]
  3. Connect your Nexus S into USB Storage mode to the PC via USB data cable
  4. Drag the downloaded zips to the root of your storage (and not in any folder)
  5. Power off the device, press Volume Up + Power buttons altogether until you see the bootloader screen. Now use the volume keys to highlight Recovery and select it using power button.
  6. Your device will reboot itself in Recovery mode.
  7. If you are flashing this ROM for the first time (coming from another ROM): wipe /data (factory reset), dalvik-cache and /system
  8. If you are updating this ROM (coming from previously installed version of this ROM): wipe /cache and dalvik-cache
  9. “Install zip from sdcard” > “choose zip from sdcard” > select the ROM zip and press “Yes” to flash
  10. Follow the above step #9  again to flash the GApps package in the same manner
  11. When all is done, select “reboot system now“.

Instructions For Nexus 4 (mako)

  1. Download the latest ROM build
  2. Download GApps package
  3. Connect your Nexus 4 to the PC via USB data cable
  4. Drag the downloaded zips to the root of your storage (and not in any folder)
  5. Power off the device, press Volume Down + Power buttons altogether until you see the bootloader screen. Now use the volume keys to highlight Recovery and select it using power button.
  6. Your device will reboot itself  in Recovery mode.
  7. If you are flashing this ROM for the first time (coming from another ROM): wipe /data (factory reset), dalvik-cache and /system
  8. If you are updating this ROM (coming from previously installed version of this ROM): wipe /cache and dalvik-cache
  9. “Install zip from sdcard” > “choose zip from sdcard” > select the ROM zip and press “Yes” to flash
  10. Follow the above step #9  again to flash the GApps package in the same manner
  11. When all is done, select “reboot system now“.

Instructions For Nexus 7 (grouper)

  1. Download the latest ROM build
  2. Download GApps package
  3. Connect your Nexus 7 to the PC via USB data cable
  4. Drag the downloaded zips to the root of your storage (and not in any folder)
  5. Power off the device, press Volume Down + Power buttons altogether until you see the bootloader screen. Now use the volume keys to highlight Recovery and select it using power button.
  6. Your device will reboot itself  in Recovery mode.
  7. If you are flashing this ROM for the first time (coming from another ROM): wipe /data (factory reset), dalvik-cache and /system
  8. If you are updating this ROM (coming from previously installed version of this ROM): wipe /cache and dalvik-cache
  9. “Install zip from sdcard” > “choose zip from sdcard” > select the ROM zip and press “Yes” to flash
  10. Follow the above step #9  again to flash the GApps package in the same manner
  11. When all is done, select “reboot system now“.

Instructions For GSM Galaxy Nexus (maguro)

  1. Download the latest ROM build
  2. Download GApps package
  3. Connect your Nexus Galaxy Nexus to the PC via USB data cable
  4. Drag the downloaded zips to the root of your storage (and not in any folder)
  5. Power off the device, press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons altogether until you see the bootloader screen. Now use the volume keys to highlight Recovery and select it using power button.
  6. Your device will reboot itself  in Recovery mode.
  7. If you are flashing this ROM for the first time (coming from another ROM): wipe /data (factory reset), dalvik-cache and /system
  8. If you are updating this ROM (coming from previously installed version of this ROM): wipe /cache and dalvik-cache
  9. “Install zip from sdcard” > “choose zip from sdcard” > select the ROM zip and press “Yes” to flash
  10. Follow the above step #9  again to flash the GApps package in the same manner
  11. When all is done, select “reboot system now“.

Your Nexus shall now boot into the very new and unique ThinkingBride ROM.

    Hi
    Been running this ROM for a while now for the nexus s and have to say that this is the best ROM for nexus s so far ! Keep up the good work 😀
    Though I downloaded the stable ROM yesterday and updated it from beta 3 and for some reason the entire thing from the boot animation lags and hence is not useable :/

        Wiped my factory data and cache , then flashed the ROM,gapps and kernel and the problem has not been solved :/

          I mean, wipe /System, /data, /cache and /dalvik-cache. Then flash.

          And one more thing my friend, make sure to flash a CM based kernel and not the AOSP ones.
