Speed Up Chrome Browser on Android, Windows, Mac & Linux

Modern smartphones feature stunning displaysย powerful processors and gigs of RAM. Having spent lots of money on a digital gadget, users have all rights to expect fluid and fast performance from the device they own. In most cases, our phones perform fast as long as they are not loaded with a lot of apps.

However, once the app drawer of a device is crowded with loads of apps and games, the performance starts slowing down and being clunky. The Google Play store is stuffed with 3rd party apps that help us manage RAM usage, remove unnecessary apps and tune the system for faster performance. But once you open so many tabs at the same time, you might notice slow page loading and choppy scrolling, especially on Android devices. By default, Chrome browser uses only 128MB RAM. By assigning more RAM to the app inย hidden settings, you can improve its performance on yourย Android phone or tablet and Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS machine.

How to Speed Up Chrome Browser

Now here’s how you can make Chrome browser faster and smoother onย Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS.

  1. Launch Chrome browser.
  2. Type the following URL/line in the omnibox. To access Chrome’s experimental features on your computer, just copy and paste the following line inย your browser’s tab.
    chrome://flags/#max-tiles-for-interest-area
  3. Now hitย the Enter button/key.
  4. Now tap the Default button under Maximum tiles for interest area.Speed-Up-Chrome-android
  5. Now select either 256 or 512MB RAM option.
  6. Close Chrome browser and relaunch it.
