If you’re one of the many people that use the popular Muzei app which gives you access to wallpaper goodies, you will be pleased to find out that it has finally received a new update. This comes as a welcomed addition to the app, as the last time users received an update was in 2015.
After the new update, the app has reached version 2.3. Users also got to get direct information from Ian Lake who acts as one of the app’s main developers. In a post he went on to say that we can expect cool new features in the newest update, including Direct Boot support. What this means is that you are able to now access your custom settings and wallpapers immediately after a reboot of your device.
Support for Android Wear 2.0
Android Wear 2.0 is the latest version of Google’s operating system for wearable gadgets. It is rather fortuitous for users of both smartwatches and Muzei that the latter’s update come right after the former. The new update includes support for Android Wear 2.0, which means you can use Muzei with a compatible smartwatch now.
If you’re on Android 7.0 Nougat or above, you also get access to a new feature that comes in the form of a tile. The new Quick Settings feature allows you to tap on a tile to instantly change your background to the next piece. This is a neat little perk that lets you change it up a bit when you’ve been using the same wallpaper for some time.
There are more new additions and improvements available in Muzei 2.3 than just feature-wise. To be more precise, users also get a revamped My Photos collection tab and a revised usage of runtime permissions.
The developer says that users will be getting even more goodies, but it hasn’t been specified when exactly that will come to pass. Muzei fans are hoping that the next update will come sooner than this one, which took more than a year to reach consumers. In the meantime, you can enjoy all the new cool features and functionalities of Muzei 2.3.
