Fans of the Huawei P8 device might be interested in knowing that Huawei announced a new handset related to the former. The new, 2017 device is called the P8 Lite and by its name, you can probably guess what it’s all about. If not, that’s fine, we’re here to fill in the blanks.

The new Huawei P8 Lite will apparently be a mid-range smartphone that will look to oblige a growing market of budget-friendly smartphones. More and more people are leaning towards these affordable smartphone solutions, therefore there is room for another strong option when considering a new phone.

What can we expect?

The specifications for this device as was expected, not top notch since we’re talking about a mid-range handset. However, that doesn’t mean by any extent that they are bad. Let’s take a look at what the P8 Lite has to offer.

  • OS: Android Nougat, EM UI 5.0 Huawei skin;
  • Display: IPS, 2.5 D curved 5.2 inches;
  • Processor: Kirin 655 octa-core A53;
  • GPU: Mali- T830MP2;
  • Memory: 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage, 128 GB with micro SD;
  • Camera: 12 MP main rear camera, 8 MP front facing camera;
  • Battery: 3000 mAH.

Those interested in acquiring the device can purchase it for around $253, or so it was announced. The handset was unveiled in Germany and there is currently no specific information regarding when people might expect this model to drop. The phone will come in black, white and gold variations when it comes to color.

The following days should hold more information regarding when this unit will become available, although given its early announcement it would be fair to guess that the actual launch isn’t too far behind.
