How to Install Jelly Bean CM10 ROM on HTC Sensation

DJ | 08 Dec 2012 | Guides/ HTC/ ROMs

Jelly Bean CM10 ROM on HTC Sensation - HTC Sensation With Jelly Bean CM10 - Droid Views

The outstanding 2011 flagship, the HTC Sensation might have been long forgotten by the OEM but it sticks to its way on Android. As per HTC guidelines, the device is only supported to be updated to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) which is surely a disgrace for this awesome piece. But does this really affect the developers and contributors at the XDA-Developers community? I say, no! and I am cent percent sure that you people share the same thought.

Late yesterday (Dec 7, 2012), the CyanogenMod Team released out a pure experimental build for HTC Sensation (pyramid) featuring Jelly Bean CyanogenMod; CM10. The migration took from the latest CM9 Nightly-20121202 to CM10 Experimental-20121207; the name itself suggests the present-day state of the build. After the successful reports from users regarding the experimental build, new changes/updates are constantly being merged into the pyramid device repository on CyanogenMod Github by its respective CM device maintainer: intervigilium. The developer now targets to release Nightly builds and take the device to a stable state of Jelly Bean. If you are a developer and are interested in contributing to the CyanogenMod pyramid code, visit the HTC Sensation (pyramid) repository. You may also follow the current changes being merged at the CM Gerrit.

We do wish the developer, contributors and users, best of luck for their upcoming builds and support. For in the views of DroidViews, this might just be the initialization of a new era for the HTC Sensation users, bringing the best of Android to this tremendous device.

I installed this on my phone but after it boots up it brings up a popup window saying system is not responding. I can’t press either of the buttons (wait or force close). The whole thing freezes.
I have tried rebooting, wipe all data and cache, reinstall, all with the same result.

        I did without S-OFF.
Flashed the boot.img from the EXPERIMENTAL PACK separately from pc. Then flashed the ROM and the GAPP. Cleared the dalvik and Rebooted. that’s it.
The Nigtly pack didn’t work with the same process. I tried but didn’t work. then went for the experimental pack. and it did work.

I first used htcdev to unlock, then used Juopunutbear to gain s-off. Followed that by loading clockworkmod. Followed all instructions till the point where the formatting failed.
The phone boots into clockworkmod after installing cm10 & gapps zip.

Any help in loading cm10 will be appreciated

            3. CWM recovery v6.0.0.0

The ROM we’re going to flash is already pre-rooted. So, we do not need to follow step #4.

          Here arise two solutions:
          1) Try changing the Governor
          2) Update to the next nightly, since this might be a specific bug with the current nightly.

Did you update? If yes, make sure to wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache before and after flashing the update

Hi Tomas, it seems you have made some mistake. Anyways, remove the battery and place it again after a few seconds. Then reflash the ROM.

Why don’t you try booting using ADB command line. Make sure you have ADB and USB Debugging enabled.
Open CMD in windows or Terminal is Linux and type “adb reboot bootloader”. Make sure the device is connected (not in USB storage mode, just connected).
