What is Facebook Messenger?
During 2012, Facebook assembled a new messenger for its own Chat feature, which was tagged as “Facebook Messenger“. It enables the smartphone user to use the Facebook integrated Chat to instantly reach their friend without any hast, very fast & simple.
What new features does it offer?
Facebook Messenger since its beginning was never so full of functionalities. It was during the fall of 2012, when this App certainly got a real push turning into just another smartphone messenger. And today is the day we seal, when Facebook has updated its Messenger App again adding another useful feature, the capability to make VoIP calls to your friends on Facebook using the same Messenger service.
So, to sum up, the most usable features that come in your sight now are, using the Integrated FB Chat, Instant Messaging using your mobile number, VoIP calls with the same. And all this using just your data plan.
How to start using the new App?
- The first thing you need to perform is a log in, either with your FB account or just your registered phone number.
- Swipe left to watch who’s online on the Chat as well as SMS.
- Tap on a contact to send an SMS, Chat message, Voice message, emoji and even photos. You can share your current location too.
- Tap on the ” + ” icon on the bottom right, to start a new one-on-one or Group Conversation.
The current version is now 2.2.4-release which was introduced into the Play Store on January 16, 2013, requires Android 2.2+.
